Blue Angles

The Blue Angles came to Idaho Falls. We got to enjoy the show from the comfort of our own lawn. It was pretty awesome. The planes were flying right over our house!

Fishing Adventures

Ian got a fishing pole for his birthday from my dad. I think it was an awesome idea! So when we got back from the cabin, we loaded everything up and went on our first fishing trip. The hook got caught pretty bad on the first cast, but Ian was able to get it unstuck the after about 15 minutes of working with it. We felt pretty lucky. He tweaked how he had things, and tried again. After a few times it got stuck really bad again. We weren't so lucky that time. I thought it was just fun to get out of the house and go do something that we usually didn't.

After the second time of watching Ian fish, I was getting a little bored just sitting on the side doing nothing. We found me an awesome pink fishing pole and it's been our new hobby together. I love how relaxing it is. Although, we still haven't caught any fish... I don't know what I would do if I did. Apparently I'm content with throwing a hook in the water and bringing it back in every so often. It's been a lot of fun though!

Ian's Birthday!

I hope Ian had as much fun as I did for his birthday. He decided to go to the cabin and invite friends and family. We headed up late after my Mary Kay Star Party. We got to turn on everything in the cabin by ourselves. That was a fun experience... I guess I had no idea what my dad was doing while we brought everything in from the car. Neither of us really knew what we were doing when it came to the water, but after a 2am phone call to my dad, I think we got it figured out. The next day before everyone arrived, we decided to go on a walk. It was too beautiful of a day not to.

Ian chose to have dutch oven cooking for his birthday dinner. Us ladies prepared the food inside and the guys did the work outside. It was a very tasty dinner! We had fun having the Blackham's and Hunter's up to the cabin with us.

We stayed one more night after everyone went home. It turned out to be a good Father's Day. We went to Big Springs for Ian's first time. It was nice except for the swarms of mosquitos! They were pretty thick. I haven't been to Big Springs in a while, so that was alot of fun. I love seeing all the big fish right there at the start of the river.

I'm a Star!

Well, I reached Diamond Star last quarter in Mary Kay. It was very exciting completing my first quarter. I was so close at the end to reaching Diamond and I'm so glad I reached up and got it! Collette's Star Party was very fun and I completely enjoyed myself. My Star pin just came in the mail and I can't wait to get my prize. I chose outdoor dinnerware. I want to go on more picnics with Ian and I couldn't help think those were perfect. Here are the Star's of the night wearing our gifts from Collette.

Six Years Ago

I can't believe it's been six years since Grandpa died. Six years is a long time! It doesn't feel like it's been that long, but when I look back at everything that has happened in six years, there has been a lot. I was doing ok with the day until now. I got thinking about how much I miss him and how much he was involved in our lives. I think that is why it still hits so hard after six years. He was supposed to be there when I got married and when my kids were born.

I got thinking about all the memories I've had with him over the years and things that remind me of him.

I loved being at the cabin and going on snowmobile or four wheeler rides with Grandpa.

Grandma and Grandpa took us on many trips to Yellowstone.

Hearing the sound of cowboy boots on a linolium floor and seeing a cowboy hat always reminds me of Grandpa.

We would play in his boots when we were little and the boot would be the entire length of our little legs.

He let me drive his brand new truck the day I got my drivers liscence. Yikes!!

It was the best going to Steamboat with Grandma and Grandpa for so many years.

He always took us kids to McDonalds to play on the toys.

I loved when he would teach me his water color techniques. They were so different from Grandma's paintings.

He was at every concert and event us kids were involved in.

I loved going to visit Grandma and Grandpa at their house in St. George.

He would always take me on walks at the cabin. He would cut down willow branches and make me fishing poles and even helped me name my favorite trees.

I hope someday my kids will see my Dad how I saw my Grandpa. I know they will. My Dad is just as awesome as my Grandpa.
