Cabin x 2

We had two back to back weekends at the cabin. It was just what Ian and I needed. Our apartment has been so miserably hot, and I was irritable and cranky all the time!

I didn't realize how noisy it is outside our apartment. Diesel trucks, bullet bikes, random people, etc. It was so nice to be in the peace and quiet of the woods. Also, we didn't have internet, phones, xbox, netflix, tv, etc. It was so good to unplug and not care about anything but the relaxing time we were having, just the two of us.

I completely enjoyed waking up in the middle of the night being cold, sleeping in a pitch black environment, and complete silence!

The second weekend up there was spent with Stephanie and Francisco. Another fun and relaxing weekend!

We attempted to float Big Springs. Getting air in the tubes was quite the ordeal, but a few hours later we were on our way down the river. Plus... we got a free hot dog out of it. Good thing! As long as it took, we would have been starving by the time we got out.

Franchesca is ready to go swimming! Poor girl was so excited and had to wait for a bit while we got the tube situation figured out.

That water was awfully cold! It was not easy to get used to.

Island Park is such a beautiful place. I love being there!

Yes, 2 moose were in the river as we were floating... I wasn't thrilled about it, but figured we would be fine because there were so many floaters passing by them.

After we passed the moose, a bald eagle was soaring right over us. It was an awesome sight. I wish I would have had my camera with me while we were on the river. That eagle came within 3 feet of Ian and I. It was a crazy huge bird! Definitely an experience I will never forget!

4th of July

This year we spent 4th of July at the Blackham's! Menan puts on quite the firework show. It's even better when your friend's yard is front row seating!

We were practically laying down in our chairs watching the fireworks directly overhead. It was awesome!

Lots of food, family, and fun!

Another Fishing Trip

We went on another camping/fishing trip this summer. We fished at Buffalo campground in Island Park, but camped at Timberline campground on the way to Cave Falls. It was a very nice campground, but I think next time we will stay at Buffalo campground. Timberline is meant more for RV's.... and we're just not quite there yet.
Ian put a worm on my hook for me, but after a while I lost it. He was on the other end and I didn't want to bother him. I don't touch worms... so I broke out the power bait. Lucky for me it didn't even smell. I wasn't reluctant to put it on my hook after I found that out...

After a while, I somehow acquired quite a mess... I fiddled with it for a while before having to see if Ian could help me. Finally I got fed up with it and just cut the line. There's my mess hanging out on the dock!
We still didn't catch anything this trip. I didn't feel too bad because there were a couple of fly fishermen not catching anything either. There were so many fish jumping too! They were everywhere, it was crazy. The fish were so tiny though. I think our bait and hooks were too big.
I love Idaho. It's so pretty (most) everywhere you go!

Summer 2011

I'll be catching up on our Summer! It's been rather busy and gone by so fast! The older I get, the faster time seems to slip by. I love summer time, but I am so glad it's winding down and it will be cooler soon. We live in a brick oven and I just can't take the heat anymore!

Back at the end of June, us high school friends went down to Salt Lake when Jill got married. It was such a fun trip for just the girls! It reminded me of the trips we took back in high school. One hotel room, 4 girls, shopping, and food!

Being there with them on their special day reminded me of some of the little things I forgot about my wedding day! Jill and Roger are such a super cute couple! I'm so happy for them :)

We had fun decorating their car!
It was so great to get together with everyone!

Not That Interesting

Wow, my blogging goes in spurts... I take pictures, I have the intention of posting, it just doesn't happen as often anymore.

We aren't in the "it" club of being parents and all... Apparently kids are the thing to blog about! Well, it's just us... Not that interesting!
